Our practice treats many forms of arthritis. The term arthritis means joint inflammation. The condition can affect any of the joints in our body. Some of the types of arthritis are hereditary or related to autoimmune diseases. One of the more common types of arthritis that we see in our practice is osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is a type of arthritis that is acquired and is not hereditary in nature. Osteoarthritis is a type of arthritis that is caused by wear and tear of joints or is related to the aging process. A common misconception is that osteoarthritis is only associated with geriatric care. This condition is also associated with younger men and women who have been involved with physically challenging tasks over a long period of time such as sports or work related injuries, pregnancy, scoliosis, obesity, history of motor vehicle accidents or falling injuries and much more. Many people believe that this condition is permanent and debilitating; however, the early detection and treatment of osteoarthritis has been one of the most successful achievements of Dr.Blitz's chiropractic career. If you, a friend or family member suffers with joint pain or stiffness, please contact our office for a preliminary examination to determine whether you or your loved ones have this condition. This condition presents in a variety of stages and is easily detectable by examination and on plain film x-ray.
